DNA hybridization

DNA hybridization
The annealing of two single-stranded DNA molecules, possibly of different origin, to form a partial or complete double helix. The degree of hybridization varies with the extent of complementarity between the two molecules, and this is exploited to test for the presence of a specific nucleotide sequence in a DNA sample.
