superbug

superbug
Jargon for a particular engineered strain of Pseudomonas, in which various hydrocarbon-degrading genes, derived from different plasmids, were combined into one genotype. This provided the basis for the precedent-setting legal decision that declared that genetically engineered organisms were patentable.
